Scheana Marieis celebrating having her eggs frozen.

“So for me — yes, this was an easy process and when I say painless, I’m referring to the needles which I have no problem with,” she continued.

Marie — whosedivorce from ex-husband Michael Shaywas finalized in April 2017 — went on to explain why she wanted the procedure, saying that her anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level is “insanely low” for her age, 28.

AMH, determined via blood test, is an indicator doctors use to estimate remaining ovarian reserve, or egg supply. According to theCenter for Human Reproduction, the average AMH level for women age 33 to 37 is 1.7 ng/mL.

Another follower chimed in, “What you’re doing is amazing!”

However, a few commenters weren’t happy with how “glamorous” Marie made the procedure seem. “Anyonewho has gone through IVF knowsit’s anything but glamorous,” one said. “For those of us who HAD no other choice, these sort of posts minimize the real fight.”

Marie updated her caption, including that she did not want to “minimize” other women struggling with infertility.
