As they gear up fortheir live televised weddingon Thursday,The Golden Bachelor’sGerry TurnerandTheresa Nisthave less on their plate than the average soon-to-be bride and groom.

The couple lucked out in the daughter department, as Nist tells PEOPLE, raving about the help her daughter Jen has offered when it comes to wedding planning.

“She’s a lifesaver,” the financial services professional, 70, says as she and Turner, 72,made their red carpet debutin New York City in mid-December. “There’s so many decisions that had to be made, and in some instances, she would get the vision board together for me or she would get ideas of dresses and veils and rings.”

“She just keeps feeding me great things and I’m saying, ‘Yeah, that, that, that,’” Nist says. “Seriously – I don’t know if there would be a wedding if she wasn’t involved.”

Turner adds that the couple’s other kids —he has two daughters and two granddaughters, while Nist also has a son, Tommy, and is grandmother of six — will also be included in their special day.

“They’re all involved,” he reveals. “There’s a spot for every family member in the wedding party … We wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The wedding is also a celebration of sorts for Jen herself, Nist shares.

“Her birthday is January 4,” she explains, adding that her daughter feels “incredible” about sharing her birthday with their nuptials date.

“It’s the biggest gift for her,” Nist continues. “She fell in love with Gerry.”

The couple previously told PEOPLE thattheir daughters “are so involved” in the wedding planning process.

“My daughter, she’s seen a million weddings and she is incredible," Nist said of Jen. “She’s put together the vision board. She’s asking me, ‘Do you like this? Do you like this?’ And I go, ‘Wow, okay, I don’t even have to do this. This is awesome.’ She’s handling it pretty much.”

Turner, a retired restaurateur, was happy to relinquish control in favor of his fiancée and her daughter’s preferences.

“I can just hear the joy in her voice when I talk to her and she’s talking about whether it’s a dress or a cake or flowers or whatever it is,” he said. “It makes me so happy that she’s having this much of a good time with it. It’s like, what could be more fun?”

Turner also shared that his son-in-laws will be his best men, and Jen will be Nist’s maid of honor, which she is “so thrilled” about.

“All of my six grandsons will be involved and we want to have Henry as the ring bearer,” Nist said. “And we’re going to have my sisters — they don’t know this — as flower girls. They’re older. They should be thrilled with that.”

The pair admitted that “they’re pretty much in harmony” when it comes to what they envision their big day to look like. TheGolden Bachelorstar teased, “It’s going to be spectacular.”
