Josh Brolintook his daughters to Arrakis when filmingDune: Part Two— well, almost.

On Tuesday, the actor, 56, appeared onGood Morning Americaand chatted about his experience filming the second part of the sci-fi movie. Praising that the cast and crew filmed on location for the scenes that were meant to illustrate the desert on the planet Arrakis, Brolin reveals that he brought his two young kids out with him.

“I love the desert! I brought my family out there, I brought my kids out there. My 3-year-old and my 5-year-old, who were 2 and 4 at the time,” he says.

“We climbed the dunes every day. It was awesome. When you first end up in the desert, you feel so insignificant because we were 2 and a half hours south of Abu Dhabi. So it was a hundred kilometers of nothing but sand.”
