The bombardment of Nagasaki , the explosion of the Hindenburg , and the Challenger disaster have all been memorialize into fume - fill up photography . Artist Brock Davis has reproduced those iconic explosions in an unlikely medium : Brassica oleracea botrytis .
Davis in the beginning created these images for hisMake Something Cool Every Dayproject . I had no idea where he got the melodic theme to replicate these disasters in veg configuration ( even the Hindenburg itself is a piece of carved cauliflower stalk ) , but they ’re oddly close reproductions . These really put the “ enchanting ” in “ morbidly fascinating . ” I wonder if he has other works issue disasters await in the backstage .
