I just cause some hand - on fourth dimension with Hitachi ’s Hyrbid DVD / HDD
DZHS300A jazz group camcorder . While I could n’t actually record anything ( ostensibly the Microdrive was disabled in the demo unit ) , I was able to ascertain that there is a grounds for the tokenish $ 599 pricepoint .
The hybrid is almost ridiculously light , to the stage where more heavy / solid build materials should have been used . That chrome in the front is just paint charge card , and change between DVD / HDD / SD offers little haptic feedback , also feel like you might go against the steering wheel off .
But how can I be more decipherable about this : if the demonstration building block did n’t have an LCD , I would have thought it was a child ’s toy . But hey – it is $ 599 . The 30 GB DZHS500A model will run $ 799 ( I think was the number ) and features a ignominious finish instead of chrome . regrettably it has identical ramp up quality to its little comrade .
