The legendary face of the NBA’s Miami Heat played like a champion during his final home game, and his family was there to support him.

It was Wade’s final game at home in Miami — with one more game in New York on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets — and it was an emotional evening.

“Man, you’re going to make me cry before this game,” Wade said following a pregame tribute video the Heat showed honoring his career,ESPNreported. “Man, I love you guys.”

“It’s meant everything,” Wade said of his career with the Heat after the game, according to ESPN. “To be able to come here and be embraced, to find a home, to be able to grow. I think that’s the one thing. When I was on the court early on and Stan [Van Gundy] let me grow, as a player, to whether it was mistakes I made in life to whatever it was, this city has allowed me to grow.”

“I hope they are proud of what they have helped me become. This city means everything to me. It’s forever, forever, forever going to be my home.”

While it may be the end of his NBA career, it’s just the beginning of a new chapter.
