Elon Musk is apparently hankering for those genus Halcyon Day when America had a President who really puzzle him . You live , the kind of pro - business bigwig who is n’t afraid to secernate the AFL - CIO to screw off ? To be sure , this is not an apt description of our current POTUS , with whom Musk seems to be slightly out of step .
Yes , not long aftercasually dissingPresident Biden on Twitter , the Tesla CEO has done it again — this time during an audience atCode Conferencein Beverly Hills , Calif. , where he aver that the Modern administration is “ coloured ” against his caller and is ( * pant * ) “ controlled by union . ”
Musk looks like sore after not getting take in to a recent White Housesummit on electric vehicles . Biden ’s August 5meetingincluded Ford and General Motors , as well as freshly formed automakerStellantis , but notably fail to send an RSVP to Tesla , despite the fact that the party reportedly produces thelargest amount of EVson the planet .

Relevantly , it has mostly beeninterpretedthat Musk was snubbed due to his ship’s company ’s overtly anti - labor stance . Indeed , when the Tesla CEO isn’tfending offunion direct within its rank , he ’s been witnessed prove tomake excusesfor why the companionship ’s worker get injured so often , or , mayhap , breaking Labour Party lawsby tweeting . The other three companies that were invited to the August EV superlative are the “ turgid employer of the United Auto Workers , ” WH military press secretary Jen Psakisaid , at the sentence .
When question about Biden this week , Musksounded offabout the whole matter : “ ( They ) did n’t mention Tesla once and praise GM and Ford for leading the EV revolution . Does that voice perhaps a little slanted ? , ” Musk said , at the California league . “ Not the friendliest administration , seems to be controlled by unions . ”
Yes , what a pity it is to have a president that is n’t exclusively worried about the grand few and , gah , why ca n’t we just have an administration that hates organized labor and be intimate Elon Musk ?

in reality , that go a whole lot like the last administration , a White House that everybody recognize was a “ pro - business,”anti - union , plutocraticmess that was dead seton sellingany part of the government that was n’t pass with flying colors down . When questioned at Code Conference over whether he wanted President Trump back , Musk ’s answer was “ no … , ” with no real elaboration .
But , eh , I do n’t know . As two billionaire largely wonted to treating their workerslikeshit , you would think that former President Trump and Elon would have a decent amount in common . At the very least , the two seemed to pay heed out a lot over the past four year , starting curtly after Trump ’s 2016 profits , when Musk went to Washington D.C. to attenda meetingbetween the then - president - chosen and tech ’s grown names , after which he would beappointed toseveral WH stage business advisory council . He would meet with Trumpagain , andagain , and , by 2020 , the two billionaires were more and more seeing centre to oculus on thing , withPolitico notingthat both men had “ a lot in common . ”
Trump also had nothing but nice thing to say about Musk , magnificently praising the Tesla CEO ’s employment on SpaceX by take note “ he does good at rockets , ” while also comparing him to Thomas Edison . According to Trump , Elon is : “ one of our very overbold people , ” “ one of our cracking geniuses . ” Actually , hesaid all of this :

“ You know , we have to protect Thomas Edison and we have to protect all of these people that came up with originally the light incandescent lamp and the roulette wheel and all of these things . And he ’s one of our very smart the great unwashed and we want to cherish those people … ”
Ahh , yes . Classic 2020 presidential rhetoric . I almost escape it . But not as much as Elon seem to miss it .
Suffice it to say , Musk and Biden do n’t seem to have quite the same flicker — potentially because Biden has some minor chemical attraction for organized labor and does n’t need to spend hour waxing wonderful about how smashing Musk is . peradventure that ’s okay .
