We saw the first teaser house trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the ape just now at Comic - Con — and damn , Caesar has changed a lot .

This movie takes place a decade after Rise of the Planet of the Apes , and Caesar is older and more seasoned — and way more terrifying . We caught one super intense shot of Caesar , as the lagger zoom out from his eyes . He ’s shroud with war paint and his face is cured and grim as he stands in front of his grouping of anthropoid . A human is calling out “ I need to talk to Caesar ! ” and he does not answer . alternatively , he sit around there and slowly brings down one hired hand , signal his aper U. S. Army to institutionalise .
That ’s actually the last nip of the tormentor we see to it . The repose of the short teaser focus on the hardship the human race is underdoing after the plague at the terminal of the first picture show . People are drum into small refugee camps , struggling to survive , veil in the forest . A human , likely Jason Clarke , is shout to the other humans that they need to know what they ’re up against — and “ it ’s not just about power , it ’s about giving us the promise to rebuild what we ’ve lost . ”
But that one powerful glimpse of an aged and frightful Caesar shows just how small that Leslie Townes Hope may in reality look for .
Director Matt Reeves told the interview that he wanted to be an emulator when he was a piddling kid , watching the 1968 Planet of the Apes film and buying a storehouse - bought emulator masque that did n’t have a lip that opened . When he saw climb of the Planet of the Apes , he in conclusion felt like he was bring forth to be an anthropoid — not physically , but emotionally . And in this film , he wanted a Caesar - centrical moving picture that would make the audience finger like ape , “ on a grander scale ” than the first one .
We all know how this story will terminate , Reeves told us — but the excitement of this film is finding out why , he says . And the answer to that lead to the heart of who we humans are as animal , and our psychological science as a slipstream .
Andy Serkis evidence us that Caesar is mature now — he ’s no longer a unseasoned ape teach to be a hero , he ’s a leader of 2000 imitator , stress to bring in the humanity he was airless to when he was growing up and create an egalitarian high society . Caesar is “ in a position where all the apes together are potent , ” he said .
