Battleheart for iPad

For your average gamer ( me ! ) , RPGs can be daunting . It always seems like some confusing soup of powers and power - ups , like everything ’s in some mystifying and dorky oral communication that I just do n’t address . Battleheart , an endearing and habit-forming RPG , is more my amphetamine . And it might be the perfect iPad game .

What is it?

Battleheart , $ 3 , iPad . It ’s certainly not the first RPG for the iPad , nor the most traditional — Aralon plausibly takes that claim — but as far as I ’ve find out it ’s the best RPG designed for the iPad , a secret plan that rewards investment but is comfortable to get the hang of , one that has delicious graphics and a ascendency strategy designed around pokings , proddings , and swipings rather of just accommodating them .

fundamentally you require a rotating cast of four cunning little fighter — there are knights , mages , pirates , thieves , ninjas , therapist , etc to “ recruit”—against an ever - evolving cast of frame , trolls , blobs , and other baddies . You accrue amber and experience points along the way , opening up availability to new skills , magical spell , and arming . Pretty standard RPG funfair . But in this caseful it ’s executed perfectly for the iPad ( though it also work on the iPhone ) . thing are mere . Drag a character to a spot to move him . scuff a character over an enemy to attack . Tap a spell to shed it . Simple .

Who’s it good for?

hoi polloi who like RPGs ; mass who call up they might like RPGs if theY were n’t so damn confusing ; people who are looking to find a game that ’ll honour them for continued free rein .

Why’s it better than alternatives?

The vitality is superb , and the restraint scheme is simple and effective . It ’s easy to get into but stays take exception ( and thus rewarding ) throughout . And for only $ 3 , it ’s a total buy .

How could it be even better?

Multiplayer would be so , so unspoiled .
