The solar day is eventually here . Some of you are design on standing in retentive lines tonight to get your hands on some fresh Wii , including our correspondent Adam Frucci . He will be giving the rundown on Nintendo ’s especial NY release party . Why is that not my problem ? I live in Bodunkville and the lines here are just line – not nerveless “ we are releasing the Wii in New York so we ’re cool ” party .
For those too lazy / in use / indifferent to stand in strain , keep in mind that there will be 4 million units usable worldwide by the end of the year . I had a conversation with Nintendo VP Perrin Kaplan during which she forebode a continuous restocking through the holiday , but also say she was 110 % certain every unit would trade out . Still , chances are that continuous visits to non - electronics retailers could score you a Wii before Christmas . Also , for those standing in line , feel complimentary to inject any mirthful / interesting stories to the Gizmodo Tips electronic mail . We might just post some tomorrow .
Good hunting .
