Before stumbling into the Predators bivouac , the rag - tag crew of con , Orcinus orca , and assassinator come across a blasted trunk . If you read the Predator comic you might be intimate with this mysterious particular - ops corpse . seemingly , it ’s Sir Francis Drake . This quality ended his life in a massive viewpoint off between him and a group of Predators , and intelligibly it did n’t go very well . Character Hanzo has a bad shtup fight scene with one of the “ upgraded ” Predators . It was literally a recreation of Predator ’s “ Billy ’s last stall ” moment , minus the self cutting and screaming — so slenderly less nerveless . BUT the new motion-picture show makes up for it with the actual fighting , something you only try in the original on screen .
The ’87 Team Is Directly Referenced
When the location and piranha are last revealed , it ’s not a surprisal to Isabelle . Why ? Because she read secret documents about Dutch ’s fundamental American alien adventure . In four judgment of conviction , Isabelle essentially prove all of what the archetype took about an time of day to explain . They are extraterrestrial , they read oestrus signature , cover yourself with mud and they ca n’t see you , yada yada . It ’s interesting to see a flick literally stand on the shoulder of it ’s forerunner to move forward .
Muddy Buddies
And because Isabelle tells the team that mud works in disguise yourself … the squad waitress until the last potential second to use this special tactics .
Long Tall Sally
Probably one of the coolheaded reference in the entire film is during the final stage credits . As presently as the flick cuts to black , “ Long Tall Sally ” is blast over the speakers . And if you remember this peculiarly bestial scene from the first film , it ’s uproarious .

Predator 2
I may be stick out , specially since Robert Rodriguez stated over and over that he would n’t be acknowledge the existence of Predator 2 in this feature , which get to sentiency . But the final show - down between the Berzerker Predator and Royce , Adrien Brody , the phonograph recording weapon is lash out . Royce then proceeds to viciously cut off the Predator ’s arm , which is really similar to Danny Glover ’s ace move in Predator 2 .
UPDATE : Some folks claim that the disc was more of an ax , but it looked like the disc to me . Just FYI .

All the former Predator technical school makes an appearing . They even mess up around with the creepy susurration voice use . But this time around it ’s Royce who bark out “ Come here ! ” Not the Predators .
Quotes
Speaking of dialog nods to the original films this movie it litter with so many preceding Predator quotes , we turn a loss count . But a favorite reference we remember was decidedly Isabelle screaming “ You set us up ! ” Dutch style to Royce , when he … well … set them up .
Old Predator Habits Die Hard

Aliens?
In a few interviews Robert Rodriguez mentioned that he was going to throw in an Aliens address as well . While we ’re not 100 % certain what he mean , we think we ’ve blob it . When Laurence Fishburne ’s character pops up , he take the bunch of misfit killers back to his “ habitation , ” which he depict as some kind of abandon foreign drilling twist . It was the most random statement ever , and we ’re assume this is in direct reference to the terraforming / minelaying colony in Alien . Right ? Maybe ? If not then why mention it at all ? Why not , “ Oh , this was an honest-to-god dressmaking spaceship for female Predators before it fell out of fashion ” ?
UPDATE : Many multitude think that the mining ship was also passing similar to the Space Jockey ’s ship in Alien . Which would kind of make sense paired with the mining quote . While others think they encounter an Alien prize skull at the stem of the vulture camp . And finally When Topher and Isabelle are trapped , Isabelle aver to him , “ I ’ll do us both ” eluding to the idea that she ’ll kill both of them before she let the Predator drink down them . This quote is very alike , if not the same , to what Hicks said to Ripley in Aliens .
